Soldier Hollow Charter School (SHCS) is a public school currently serving grades Kindergarten through sixth grade. In the fall of 2017, we will offer Pre-K (4 year olds)-7th grade, with the intent to grow to 8th grade in the fall of 2018. We are currently located at the Wasatch Mountain State Park in Midway, Utah on the grounds of the 2002 Olympics cross country skiing facility. We are building a new facility on 10 acres in Charleston, just two miles away, with the intent to relocate for the 2017-2018 school year.
Our mission is to provide an innovative educational model that nurtures inquiry, creativity and inspires the desire to learn. We use the natural world as a classroom for place-based learning across the curriculum.

Criminal Background Check Required
Upon hire, all new employees are required to complete a background check as a condition of employment. Unless a new employee has completed a background check through the Utah State Office of Education within 6 months of the date of hire, he or she must complete a background check.
Pursuant to Utah law, criminal convictions (midemeanors and felonies) as well as pending citations, arrests and pleas in abeyance will be reviewed carefully to determine suitability for employment in our district.
Safety Sensitive Drug Testing
Some positions are subject to drug testing due to the nature of their position. Sample positions include but are not limited to School Bus Driver, Maintenance and Grounds positions, Custodial positions, Teaching, Aide and office personnel positions, etc. Successful candidates in these positions may be required to undergo drug testing after they have been offered a job with the school, and must pass the drug test before being hired.
